‘Striking modernism’ best describes our recently completed duplex project, nestled in the highly sought-after Sydney suburb of Arncliffe. Both incredible residences feature 5 bedrooms, 2 ensuites, 2 communal bathrooms and a laundry, as well as an enviable basement and a large terrace with its own outdoor kitchenette. With city views and a spacious open-plan design, this is a luxurious development made for the hustle and bustle of modern living.
The Results
Designed by Space 0.618:1, this project was all about inspiring a sense of relaxed, simple luxury, with quality fixtures and a minimalist design that exuded throughout the build. Walking up to the duplex, you’ll be immediately struck by the cubic shapes, steel cladding and impressive glass windows.
Once you enter the front door, you’ll first come across the spacious kitchen and dining space, which we fitted with top-quality, modern appliances and sleek matte black tapware. With a colour palette of crisp whites, bright greys and a touch of black, the space is immediately inviting, warmed by light timber cabinetry in the kitchen area. This living area extends to a gorgeous modern patio with outdoor kitchen and in-ground pool – a perfect place for leisure and entertaining.
Upstairs, you’ll come across many large, sun-lit bedrooms, all of which feature built-in storage. To ensure a harmony throughout each space, dark greys were used for all bathroom and ensuites. The home’s main bathrooms even feature LED light mirror, which make getting ready in the morning easier than ever.
Not only was the client happy with the final result, the project absolutely exceeded their expectations, and we’re already working with them on another development.
The Challenges
Taking 12 months to complete, this project was a feat of engineering and construction intelligence. One of the biggest challenges we faced was during the excavation stage, where the amount of rock that needed to be removed coupled with narrow street access made getting machinery and cranes on site more difficult than usual.
Another challenge, but one of the home’s most incredible features, was crafting the cantilevered balconies, which form part of the front façade. Load-bearing beams were strategically placed to be concealed within the window frame to ensure a unified look. We couldn’t have executed this design so seamlessly without assistance from the highly-skilled team at Horizon Engineers.
We are so proud of what we have achieved in Arncliffe and would like to extend a big thank you to all of our partners, suppliers, contractors and collaborators who had a hand in bringing this project to life.
