In 2024, Phase Projects was honoured to be named a finalist in the HIA Custom Built Home $2.5 million–$4 million category for our Brighton-Le-Sands waterfront residence. This recognition from one of Australia’s most respected industry bodies reflects the skill, precision, and collaboration that go into every build we deliver.
The project showcased not only architectural excellence but also our ability to overcome complex coastal engineering challenges, resulting in a home that blends innovation, craftsmanship, and lifestyle.

Our Building Team Is Led by Experience

Mohamed’s journey in construction began with a hands-on foundation as a skilled carpenter, where he developed a deep appreciation for craftsmanship and attention to detail. His passion for building led him to senior management roles in civil construction, where he spent six years delivering complex, large-scale projects. Over the past 20+ years, including 14 years dedicated to residential building, Mohamed has cultivated a unique blend of technical expertise, business acumen, and design insight.

As a registered builder with a Certificate III in Carpentry and a Diploma in Building and Construction, Mohamed takes a hands-on role in every Phase Projects home. From project management to client communication, he oversees every detail, ensuring quality, precision, and transparency throughout the process. Whether collaborating with architects and interior designers or managing subcontractors and suppliers, Mohamed’s adaptable approach ensures each project runs smoothly from start to finish.

What drives Mohamed is his passion for creating homes that exceed expectations. He finds immense satisfaction in seeing a project come together, knowing that the final product will become a cherished space for his clients. For Mohamed, every home is more than just a build, it’s a legacy of quality, care, and craftsmanship.

Mick – Construction Manager

Mick combines a degree in Project Management with extensive hands-on industry experience to expertly oversee all construction operations at Phase Projects. As Construction Manager, he ensures every project is delivered safely, on schedule, and to the highest specifications. His ability to coordinate teams, manage complex builds, and maintain efficiency reflects his professionalism and dedication to excellence, making him an invaluable leader on every site.

Abbas – Quantity Surveyor & Contracts Administrator

Abbas brings a wealth of expertise to Phase Projects, holding a Bachelor of Engineering (Construction Engineering) and years of experience in cost planning, quantity surveying, and contract administration. His meticulous approach ensures financial accuracy, contractual compliance, and informed decision-making throughout every stage of a project. Abbas’s technical proficiency and industry insight are instrumental in delivering projects on budget and to the highest standards

From that moment, we knew he would be our builder of choice. Mohamed approaches each project as if he’s building his own home — the care, precision, and pride he takes in his work is truly exceptional. Throughout the entire process, we always felt that he was more focused on how we felt and on achieving the outcome we wanted, rather than treating it as just another project. Our only regret is not involving him from the very beginning to manage the design and approval process. Despite coming in later, the Phase team helped us finalise the administrative requirements to get our approval. As soon as we had approval, the team got straight to work. The build was completed to a high standard, and we were so impressed that we ended up expanding the scope along the way. Mohamed and his team delivered a full extension, including a new attic, kitchen, additional bedroom, bathroom, laundry, and a spacious family room at the rear — along with a new garage and concrete driveway. The finishes were fantastic, and we were genuinely pleased with the constant communication throughout the build. We always felt informed and involved, which made the entire experience even more reassuring. We’re now planning to renovate the front of our home early next year, and there’s no question — we’ll be going with Phase Projects again. The aftercare has also been exceptional. While others share horror stories about their building experience, ours was a dream. We honestly can’t relate.

Building our new home was a significant journey, and we extensively researched various builders, including some of the larger project home builders. Ultimately, we chose a boutique builder that would be personally involved on-site and deeply familiar with every aspect of our project. We were not interested in a production line approach. One of the standout benefits was the ease of communication. We could call or email anytime and receive prompt responses. Additionally, we had the freedom to choose materials beyond a predetermined range from their warehosue. Even their suppliers were accommodating; if we didn’t find what we liked, we could suggest our preferred suppliers. This flexibility was invaluable. We wanted to be hands-on with our interior selections and layout without incurring excessive costs for interior designers. An architectural interior designer assisted us with layouts and drawings, but we managed the material selection ourselves. This option, provided by Phase, not being limited to a few choices, was particularly appealing. The open line of communication and transparency were consistent throughout the process. We had regular on-site meetings, which kept us informed and involved. We are extremely happy with the finished product. The handover was seamless, and we couldn’t be more satisfied with our new home.

This team truly cares about what they do and takes pride in their work. We hired Phase to do our renovations and first-floor extension, a project many builders before them said couldn’t be done due to the timber-clad structure downstairs and concerns about the footing's strength. However, with the help of Mohamed and his design team, they made it possible, and we got our DA approval seamlessly. The builder and contractors were all lovely and very respectful of our space. They were honest and incredibly helpful when we had questions about fixtures, fittings, and materials. The process was completely stress-free for us, though we imagine it might not have been for them at times, but you wouldn't know it from their professionalism! Nothing was ever too hard for them, and they were very easy to talk to and deal with We couldn’t be happier with the end result, and the great energy they brought to our house lives on in our walls.
